The Challenge.
STC Beem is a robust messaging and meeting application designed for both corporate and individual users. Because it serves as a critical communication lifeline across multiple devices, ensuring a frictionless user experience is paramount. The STC team brought us in to conduct a rigorous, end-to-end usability analysis of the entire platform. Our challenge was to systematically evaluate the complex ecosystem across mobile and desktop environments, uncovering hidden friction points through deep heuristic evaluation and structured usability testing to elevate the overall user experience.
The Approach.
Product Immersion & Mapping: Deconstructed the entire application, mapping all user flows and edge cases in Miro to establish a shared understanding of the ecosystem across the wider team.
Heuristic Evaluation: Strategically divided the platform into functional modules, allowing each Usability Analyst to take ownership of a section and conduct highly focused heuristic evaluations.
Usability Testing Strategy: Defined targeted usability testing scenarios and guidelines, equipping the UX lab team to execute precise, goal-oriented testing sessions with real users.

Massive Defect Resolution: Successfully identified, categorized, and documented 266 specific usability issues across all form factors.
Actionable Roadmapping: Provided prioritized, strategic design recommendations for every identified issue, moving beyond just finding problems to offering actual solutions.
Comprehensive Hand-off: Delivered a finalized, end-to-end research report compiling all heuristic analysis and UX lab testing data, serving as a direct action plan for the STC development team.
